Hey guys,
I was trying to install an Alpine CDA9856 over the weekend that I bought used from someone. After connecting the wire harnesses together and installing the head unit, there was no sound at all coming from the speakers, not even static. The HU is working because we tested it on another car and the harness was connected properly. The speakers also work because I'm using it now with the stock radio. Anyone have any clue on what could be wrong? Possibly damaged wire harness because the Honda harness I bought had a wire label incorrectly? (Says Rear right speaker + instead of Front right speaker + because it was same color with a black strip that corresponded with the front right)

 

maybe you should get a quality harness and wire it up again.

if the unit is shorting out due to an improper speaker connection then you will not get sound.

 

I bought the harness from a reputable audio shop around here. Going to go back to them tomorrow and see what they'll do.

 

post pics of the harness that you have (assembled with the HU plug on one end and the "honda" plug on the other). We should be able to tell from a few good pics if you have it right..

 

Does the HU say "Interrupt"? Check the pink/black wire and make sure it's not grounded.
