Default Installing an Alpine IVA-D900?

Has anyone installed an Alpine IVA-D900? Or any other Navigation type unit. I wondered if there is enough room above the unit to use the screen.

Thanks guys....

No, sorry bro........it wont clear the dash. When the new Kenwood KVT915DVD comes out, it should be our saving grace as far as fitment. I'll let you guys know when it comes out.

737,

Definitely search around on the site... a few of us have mounted folding navigation systems in a variety of ways...

BTW, I wouldn't do it again...

Sweet... Can you see the display well from the Captains side. I mean the drivers side. I am so ready to get a GSP/DVD unit I can't stand it. I have a street pilot but I want something built-in.
Looks like there is a roll of RJ-45 cable on the passengers side of the photo. Home net? I am done with mine. I think. Ran my share of that last month.

Thanks..
T.

737,

You do get some glare on the screen but you can adjust the tilt of the screen... plus, I have a piece of monitor antiglare filter screen that makes it easily viewable. When I made the mount, I should have angled the unit more.

Honestly, I sold my NVE-N851A DVD navigation because I never used it and I rarely retract the monitor anymore. Between the dash controls and remote, I never really need the screen. Like I said before, I wouldn't do it again.

As for the Cat5e, that was for helping a friend... I have a 1000' roll of Cat6 for my home networking lab (15 routers, 12 switches, and 14 PCs
