I will be installing this next weekend in my 2004.

I'm wondering if I will need to make additional MDF spacers for the speakers. They say the top mount depth is 2.5", and the FAQ says I have a bit more room than that. The kit comes with some spacers. Will that be all that I need?

Secondly, the stock tweeter mounts are for 3/4" tweeters, so I understand. These tweeters are 1", and seem to be much wider across. Will I be able to fit them in in any way? Will I have to make my own mounting bracket, or can I just shimmy them in somehow?

 

I've heard that you need spacers but I don't recall what size. I want these speakers and I'm interested in how your install turns out. Good Luck

 

Just opened up the box. They look fairly shallow. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't fit. Guess I'll find out next weekend.

 

I'm in the same boat, I am looking trying to figure out what size components to get. Crutchfield says only 6.5 speakers but almost all components are 6.75. When you put them to the door are you going to have to do any modification?

 

So did you ever get these installed? If you did can you take pics? I got the same speakers but have yet to install them. Waiting on my amp.
