iPod install
just got it, and installed the neo ion, not the icelink - so far, so good.. very easy install, will update if theres been any problems..
its a little finicky about the dash controls - if you touch the ipod and change tracks that way, you gotta get out of the cd changer mode and back in.. but if you don't use the ipod, you can control very easily on the dash.. so i guess i can just set it on a playlist to go back and forth.. and no adjusting volume, it acts like a line out.. wooty woot!

I have a question for the ICE gurus.
I will be hooking up a amp to power up my component speakers.
This will be powered with the stock deck.
Would I be able to hook up the neo too?
I haven't taken the deck apart to see what the back looks like.
Do I have enough ports to accomodate both?
Or is it possible?
Thanks
You'll have to use an amp that allows high level inputs (speaker level from the stock deck) or use a line output converter to lower the signal to RCA (line) levels. IMO at that point, you might as well consider an aftermarket deck that has an iPod interface option.
I have a IPOD connector for sale. It will connect to the stock s2000 stereo. 60 shipped. Let me know guys.

Looks like the ones designed for the stock head unit does not charge up the iPod while it's playing. My 20GB iPod's battery life is horrendous, and I can't imagine the Nano being much better. I got an Alpine HU, but I'm having a hard time justifying a $120 adapter (charges while it plays, displays the songs on the HU display) because it also plays MP3's. One disc holds ~150 songs. 2-3 discs and you're ready to go. Why have the iPod in the car for possible damages from the sun, heat, theft, etc.?

i know that the neo ion charges as well as controls.. thats the reason I bought it. I'm also too lazy to constantly burn cds because I get new music almost everyday.
FYI to all...
I recently bought a Dension ice>link plus and installed it into my 2005 s2k. So far so good. The only issue I had was with that my iPod froze up on my once. I just reset it and all was good again. I personally have a case on my iPod which has a belt clip and I just clip it onto the net by the passengers legs. I normally have it on the passenger seat or in hand because I use the Apple UI instead of the Dension controls. Here are some good links that I used to install it...

For all of you who have an older s2k I just bought and installed a Neo Ion, which is the product for the older MY's, into my 2005 Scion xB. Again I have had no issues so far and it is working great as well!!!
