iPod install pics
I'm probably the 129083257th one to have done this, but I don't browse regularly, so be nice
.
Previously, I installed the Alpine 9851 w/ the Modifry DCI & Polk Audio 6500 component speaker kit, along with the Alpine Sirius adapter.
Today, I added the Alpine iPod adapter. It just piggybacks onto the Sirius tuner via Alpine's AI bus.
First, here's a pic of the Sirius antenna. It gets reception in there!

Second, here's a pic of the ipod. Drilled a hole in the back of the glove compartment for the wires:

...and here's the head unit:

It literally took no more than 10 minutes to drill the hole and install the ipod adapter since the sirius tuner was already in place. Both the sirius tuner and the ipod adapter are located on top of the gas tank next to the spare tire. They're simply held in by friction - I taped cardboard on top of the units and just stuck them in there. It may sound ghetto, but it works and they don't move an inch (and I autocross!).
The sirius tuner required power, so I tapped into the cig lighter power from behind the seats.
The ipod adapter didn't require any additional power.
The AI-Bus link cable is carefully run through the center console to the back of the head unit.
Finally, pics of the new ipods. I bought the 80gb video and the new Nano is for the wife (s2k is the wife's car):

Just thought I'd share!

The video will be in my BMW most of the time. I've got a module coming that will put the ipod video's video on my nav screen while my ipod is safely tucked away in the glove compartment.
