Here are some pics of my installation...
In order to get the wire coming through the glovebox do you have to diassemble the entire console/glovebox? Or is there a secret way (kinda like the secret compartment) for getting the wire into the glovebox?

I've wanted to do the same thing but I'm wary of taking my entire interior apart.

I'm not too adventurous when it comes to taking the interior apart. The local Sound Advice has done all of the audio work on the car (run wires and install amp and sub in trunk). The tech that's worked on my car has worked on many S2000s, so I trust that he knows what he's doing. To this point, he's done A+ work.

They only charged my about 70 bucks to pull the head unit, install the Neo and run the wire to the glovebox.

I agree that it seems a little steep. However, you'll have $380 in the whole deal -- which is about the same price as a CD changer. Instead of having 6-10 discs, you'll have access to thousands of songs. And, you can take your iPod anywhere.

In the end, it was easy for me to justify the cost of the Neo to have such a user-friendly and clean setup.

I believe that the Alpine offers a lot more functionality from the head unit, such as scrolling through playlists, albums, artists, etc right from the deck. In addition, the artist and song info is shown on the head unit display.

I opted for the Neo because I like to keep the head unit and dash controls as stock as possible. In addition, I am 6'4" and never keep the radio door open because it jabs the side of my right knee in a very bad way. Therefore, for me the extra money to get the Alpine wasn't worth it because I never use the head unit buttons or see its display.

Perhaps someone that has the Alpine can provide some more detail about its functionality. I'm curious to hear how well it works as well.

I have the KCA420 and you are correct. It allow me to scroll through the songs and folders from the Alpine HU as well as giving the name of the song that is currently playing.

For those with the Neo and the factory 2004+ head units, what's displayed on the head unit when you're listening to the iPod?
