iPod for S2K
Just as an alternative, Pioneer has improved their ipod interface. A friend of mine has it with one of their new ipod ready interfaces and it works very well. It is not lightening fast, but quick and the interface on the headunit works great with a very intuitive control knob.
isnt the pioneer interface a bit more expensive than the alpine one...you can get the alpine one for $30 or less, sometimes free, and i think the pioneer one is around $75....just trying to recall what i found when i was searching for a HU...unless they have a newer cheaper one?
I think the you can find them online for around $50. And the HUs are generally cheaper than Alpine (although most people like Alpine better HUs better).
With the Alpine, can you browse the Ipod by genre? I had heard it is Artist Album Playlist only. Can someone verify?

I just got my Alpine 9857 installed with iPod connections, but I can't find my iPod, all it does is keep on Searching, even though is able show an iPod is connected.
Does anyone what might cause this?
Thank You

I have Pioneer DEH P 880 PRS with CD IB100 II ipod adapter and I am extremely happy with the performance. You can control every option on the ipod from the headunit. Make sure you have the latest firmware on the ipod.

i got mine for around $150 plus another $10 for the Y bus cable. yes it also charges your ipod for you. the only real downside to the honda music link is it locks up the ipod so you lose the button controls on the ipod, but i keep the ipod in the trunk so it doesnt matter for me. it's easy to install and you have full control with the dash controls.
I have a silly (simple) question. The black clips, marked with red arrows, are just pried off with a tape covered screwdriver? Sorry these are the simple steps that cause me the most trouble. I suppose the worst that would happen is breaking the clip but I'd like to do it properly. Some of these clips are recessed and not easy to approach. Thanks.I've already managed to push on the center of one clip, marked with blue arrow, into the space below, behind the bumper. I have to assume they are disposible on removal.
