Im sorry, but Ive never heard of SEAS, and I am reading up on them.....

*Cheap materials for construction....(polypropeline)
*Very moderate power handling
*Not the most efficient speakers (86bd)
*EXTREMELY expensive
*No awards of any kind

So, when MB Quart QSDs are $499
When Focal Utopia are $499
When Audiotech FIscher is only $850 (150 bucks more)
When Infinity perfects are made of MUCH higher quality materials

Why would I buy these again???

Its really hard to sell stuff on this forum buddy....

^ You drive with the top up? I raise my top about 6 times a year. One of the reasons I have MB Quarts is because they are clearly audible across the full range at 90+mph with the top and windows down.
When did I say I drive with my top up???

Spend your wad of dough and your thoughts on the best possible way to install your equipment. Maybe develop custom angled enclosures for your speakers or something, really don't worry about which $1,000 speaker is "better". Keep your fly zipped up and enjoy the music, and driving, instead.
I totally agree!

JOhn,

I was thinking the same thing, this guy is a distributor so of course he is going to market his product as the best. I am not doubting ASDF that Lotus speakers are not good, but personally I had never heard of them until it was posted here and that does not help the situation, it might just be that these speakers are so high end that only top end people know about them, but i would of thought i would of come across them when researching the components i was looking at such as Focals, Rainbow, Dynaaudio, MB's and Boston's.

NFRS pretty much sums it up, and I agree with him. I just wanted to go overboard when I got the Utopia's, thats just the way I am, but cruising at 55 mph with the top down, road noise, wind noise and all the chicks staring you down, you will not be able to tell the difference between the Focal's, the Infiniti's, the Lotus, and I am going a bit overboard on this but Jensen's (lol, ok so you can't tell but you get my point). Our car does not have one ounce of sound deadning material in it, i can hear when I run ants over on the road. Its all about brand name for me I guess, like the difference between a Rolex and Breitling, both great watches, but the Rolex has more effect on people.

ASDF if you ignore the specs, then why did you post them initially. I would also like to hear those Lotus in person, let me know if you find any shops in the miami area that will be carry them.

Recently alot of people have posted these "help me decide threads", I have always referred the amp I have and the sub, but never the Focals, even I know its ridiculous. Only reason I did in this thread is because it was one of your choices you where asking for info on. Honestly, I would do it again with the Utopia's, but if i was on a budget, i would go with Infiniti Perfects.

Anyone here tired yet of MR ASDF selling in the forum? Not that it is unheard of, but he is really blatant. Might be different if he were an approved vendor or sponsor. Those guys are pretty low key about it though.

I'm going to go out on a tiny limb here and publically doubt that these speakers are any good whatsoever. The facts don't add up and first ASDF mentioned them on another thread and got smacked down for spamming and now he's at it again here and contradicting himself (specs vs. don't believe the specs). (And don't get me started on his questioning whether owners [*cough*] drive top down in a convertible!)

The audio world is full of rediculous amounts of expensive horse $hit. My ears are ultimately the only judge I care about (and maybe my wallet as well). So, when these magic speakers have distribution I'll give them a chance. If ASDF were really serious about his magic product he would have *first* done what the best high-end companies do and that's to send out a loner pair to people here and reviewers around the country. Word of mouth is the best way to build credibility. For one person to claim these are the best and then slowly leak that, oddly enough, he is the only way you can possibly buy them sounds like a rat.

I call

Edit: and note that loner gear is not foreign to this board at all. There's a current, whole thread on a new sub that is being passed around for our approval in small enclosures.

I asked for a loner pair.... but he wasn't able to do it. To bad because I like to hear them... I'd pop them in the S to give them a proper top down rating.

I'm with Flitcroft on this one... They may very well be nice speakers but for one person to say these are better than 'xyz' speakers, well that just doesn't cut it for me. Don't believe Alpine spec's but believe your word??? I don't think so. Alpine is known for being unrated... where as nothing is known about these Lotus speakers but what you say... because we should listen to the spec's...

Sorry dude but I think you just through a burning match on your already gas soaked bridge.

If you really want people here to believe you, your gonna have to pass around a loner set.

I second flithcroft

-no recognition
-excessive marketing of his product, and what a coincedance he is the
only distributor of the product

Your going to have to prove to us with more than words, $$$ and specs that these
speakers are worth more than three dollars, cause right now, that is how much I think they are worth.
