Default Just install new speaker and found something out

Well a few weeks ago i had to rent a car for a long drive and at the time i didnt have my S2000. So i rented a Mazda 6 after i got back in my S2000 i was like wow these speaker sound like crap lol so i wanted to get something that didnt cost alot and i didnt want to run an amp so i buy these for likr 50 -60

Then i went to s2ki to see how to remove doors to install these and to my horror i see alot fo post saything that most dpeaker dont fit the door on the holder for the speaker and that i would need to do some moding. i like crap i dont a that great of a moder. and i didnt want anyone working on my car. so i said what the hell let me try i frist buy this kit that i got at circurt city for $10 that come with a harness that plug in the honda speaker harness and give you a + and - to hook up the speaker that great for me (if you want to know what it called it Metra Honda/Acura Speaker Harness model # DW7900SH)

Anyway i take of the door remove the oem speaker but left that black cup thingy and use the harness plug it into the new speaker and try to fit the cup and you kow what it fit great even the hole match.i was done in 10 min yay

Yep lots of speakers will fit the stock location without modification. Why did you go with coaxials? I guess one advantage is you will have the stock tweeter in use along with the 3 way you bought.

Geez I can't even remember how I wired mine up...I think I jammed wires into the factory plug and wrapped electrical tape around the suckers to hold the wires in place. Those plugs are a great idea and I didn't even know they existed.

i've gotta say this cos it's bugging me

if you soundproofed the door and spent a few dollars on an amp, they'd really perform so much better.

i'm taking things to a bit more of an extreme level, having my own custom dash fabricated, but even so, stock locations and some soundproofing'd really help those speakers sound good

Well they give abit more of a clearer sound and sound a bit better at higher levels but not too crazy but i might change the headunit out so they sound better with that.

This may be slightly off-topic but is there a nice guide on how to easily remove the door panel? I have a door ding and I would love to thumb it out
