Default audio install help

I plan on getting a pioneer headunit deh p6200, do I need to buy anything else like harness to install it. I am also going to install there d1702 speakers, do I need anything to install that. Also what dimensions are max for speaker, what is the depth. Will these speakers fit. I also will be installing gm3400 amp. What do I need to install that. All these products are pioneer

if you want to keep your controls on the left, hit up modifry.com and get the DCI(dash control interface)...they also have the harness so you dont have to cut into your factory wire harness. just plug and play.
You will need a bunch of wiring to install the amp,...you can do it a cheap way or a good way,....id buy a kit from monster.
crutchfield.com is a good site to check out for info as well.

You need a wiring harness. Should cost $10-20 from any audio store, crutchfield, sonic electronics, ebay, or 100 other stores. You connect wires to the harness, remove the factory head unit (seach for an install thread for instructions), then plug the new harness in and mount the head unit.

I think those are drop-in, meaning pull off the door panels and just bolt them in without anything else. If not, you might have to make a spacer by cutting up a piece of MDF wood or something like that. There are instructions on here.

Are you intending to amplify the speakers? If so, read the thread I did. That will take some time to wire up. It's much easier if you skip the amp the first time around. Maybe you should do this in two parts: do the speakers and HU first, then do the amp after that when you do a bit of research and feel comfortable with the work. As said before, you'll want an amp kit, but there's more to it than that. I did an install like this, have a look through the thread to see what I had to do. That will help you get an idea of what you're getting into. My install was a HU, speakers, and an amp run "active," so it's a pretty similar install if you run the amp to the speakers. If not, yours will be easier by a large margin.

Lots of options. Crutchfield is good but often not cheap. Amazon does pretty well. I've used sonicelectronix and woofersetc with good luck, but they don't warranty the stuff. It's enough cheaper to be worth considering anyways. There are plenty of other good places, but those are a few I've used with success.

ace has a good point, AMP installs can be a bit tricky and and frustrating if you don't know what you're doing. Read up on it before you do the install and here's another good post from darkknight1999 darkknight1999's 'How-To' threads, S2000 wiring, fiberglas sub box build,
