Just installed component speakers in MY00
I did my component speaker install in my MY00 on sunday that was long overdue. The stock speakers are made out of paper and I installed my Polk DB6500s. They sound SO much better!
I must say that the job was not hard at all. The hardest part was the trips that I had to take back and forth to the hardware shop because I kept buying the wrong tools. Eventually, just ended up using an exacto hobby knife that I had to cut the holes for the tweeters. Worked great!! Also I mounted my crossovers in the doors. Dont think that i will be needing access to them anytime soon so its ok. And if I do, removing the door takes only about 15 minutes.
For anyone that is looking to do this upgrade these speakers are great and a direct drop in fit (well except for the tweeters of course). Didnt have to do any modifications to the woofer basket at all.
If anyone has any questions, drop me a message
