Default JVC IPO Integration Help

Junkies,
Perhaps you can assist me..

I have the following
JVC KD-AVX1 Headunit
JVC KS-PD100 IPOD Interface Unit
IPOD - 30gig Video (Generation 5)
Modifry's JVC DCI.

The AVX1 and the DCI have been installed and working for over a year. I installed the PD100 over the weekend. It was a simple install - two wires.

When the IPOD is attached to the PD100, I can get the AVX1 to recognize the IPOD through the EXT-INP option. Whatever is playing on the IPOD is heard through the interface

I cannot, however, control the IPOD from either the AVX1 or the DCI.

All the propaganda on JVC indicates that I should be able to "seemlessly" control the IPOD from the HU. The JVC support people, tell me that I should NOT be able to control the IPOD from the HU, but rather I must use the IPOD controls.

There is a disclaimer that the PD100 is not designed to be a complete control interfeace to the video IPODs, but I that I should still be able to control the Audio.
One clear indicator of a problem is that the documentation tells me that "JVC" should appear on the IPOD screen....It does not.

Anyway....Does any have this setup? Does it work? I plan on trying other IPODs once I can steal one from a neighborhood kid or jogger. Would the DCI have any effect on the operation?

thanks in advance,

Steve

Won't wory on your application, sorry. Your using it as an AUX in pretty much so it's a "universal" per say adaptor that is just reading the information. If it doesn't say "JVC" on the Ipod's face itself then it won't be able to be controlled from the radio. The only thing you'll be able to do is controll volume up and down from the radio.
