Kappa Installa finally done, pics inside
no problem Andy...
the best way to get cables to the doors... there's a lot of panel pulling. if you seriously want to do it and get the crossovers in the trunk, i'd do it when you've got it all gutted for the main wiring anyway.
if you do it w/ the RCAs and power:
-first, pull the seats. it's a minor effort, but well worth it.
just be REALLY cautious and take your time... those seat rails will scratch and/or tear what they touch quite easily.
-pull the trim panels along the door sill.
-use a phillips head to remove the screw on the panels behind and on the outside of the seats. pull those panels.
-use a phillips to remove the screws on the kick panels (i think there are screws for those panels...
) at the driver's left foot and passenger's right foot.
-pull the doors (you already know this one.)
then run your wires as you need... power and RCA, there's a good writeup on how to in the FAQ.
-run wires from amp to crossover (now in trunk),
-then two sets (tweeter and woofer) from trunk to the front. you'll want to go over the gas tank, down under the carpet (behind the seat), then up along the OEM tunnel on the left sill (if you choose to split them like dave, do the same on both sides).
-once you've gotten all the way to the front, you'll have to pass wires from behind the kick panels through the factory grommet into the doors. there are several good writeups on how to do this.
-then, just connect to your speakers.

I didnt take my seats out, but I bet it makes it a lot easier. As long as you know how to take off the panels you should have it done in a few hours. After working on my car,
Without any trick customizing, I can wire up a full system in an s2k in under 2 hours.
Just take your time. I however, disagree with everyone about the passenger side speaker wire. You are asking for another hour at the least it you try to run it through the dash to the left side. Do what I did.....
When you lift up the "s2000" door sill, you will see a white plastic piece with some wires in it. Run the power wire INSIDE the plastic thing, and run the speaker wire outside the plastic thing (tape it so it doesnt move.) I did this, and absolutely no whine from ground/alternator.
Im going to PM you my # so you can call me if you need any help. You can call me anytime until 3:30 AM eastern time.
Good luck!

we're clearly talking about two different routes. i'm saying run back under the carpet (behind the pedals) or up along and behind the panel by the steering colum, and then pass through, right below the A/C fan and ducting near the firewall. get a flashligt on the drivers side, and just shine it towards the passenger side.... you'll clearly see the light and the route you need to take.
i don't think running along w/ the power will kill you, but an hour?!

also -- let me know when you're planning to do this, and i will also try to be available to answer questions...
Yea Andy, forgot to say......
Big ups to you and your friend for doing the install yourself. Youll learn, blow a few fuses (j/k
) and have fun. PLus have the pride of doing everything yourself. Good job man.

Tnx guys for the comments on the avatar and props for the install.
I think I can run the wires to the doors and thru the center console to the trunk, I can connect the amps and adjust them but still for the looks I will need professional help.
I need somebody to build me a nice box and a beauty board and an amp rack and make it all nice and bling in the trunk.

yup... agreed and late kudos on the new avatar.
just an item of note... when installing your amps, always connect the grounds first.
and get in your mind a conception of what you want for mounts and bling... then, you just need some basic wood tools, time, patience, and a little help... you'd be surprised with what you can make.
the biggest thing is measuring 4 times and cutting 1 time. (i know, you're only supposed to measure 2 times... but i'm a little AR.
