Default KDC-x679

I have a kdc-x679 that plays for about two seconds then shuts off. I checked all the connections and they appear to be correct, without short circuits. I even tryed to run it without anything else connected but the power wires. When i try to reset it, it runs untill i press tuner or cd, plays for two seconds then shuts off. What do you think the problem is?

I'd say the radio is jacked up. Take it back where you bought it and get a new one. If it shuts off the second you turn on signal, it could be internal (internal amp with a short), wiring (wires crossing each other) or the speakers (they could be grounding themselves out causing the amp to shut off). If it shuts off even with the sources off than it's the deck. Hope this helps.

Thank you.

It sounds like the internal amp is shorted. The back of the receiver seems to get "hot" although it could be my imagination. I'm afraid you could be right.

How long have you had it? Within 30 days and your retailer will have to replace it (pending them having weird return policies).
