Default Line output converter. Necessary?

If my amplifier has line level inputs, is there any advantage to using a speaker-level-RCA line output converter?

(I'm keeping my stock head unit for now)

Thanks.

Yes, you need Line Output Converter if you keep the stock HU and your external amp does not have speaker level inputs. www.buy.com has very low price PAC LOCs.
Do you upgrading door speakers only, or do you also add rear speakers on the rear panels or Spods ? If you add rear speakers, you need 4-channel LOC, PAC OEM-2 is what you need.

Thanks for the reply.

My amp does have speaker-level inputs and I am not adding any more speakers (just upgrading the components), so I should be fine without one.

yes, you absolutely must have one of some sort, whether outboard or in the amp... thankfully, the amp you're looking at does.

now while the Kicker does have one built in, you may still need to acquire one, as the one in the Kicker could be noisy. i'm not sure what quality they use for those components. Kicker's not a no-name though, so i would expect it to be good quality and to be as clean as possible.
