Looking for a good 4-channel amp
I've got a 12" Alpine Sub and 6.5" CDT components with 1" tweeters up front, looking for a good 4-chn amp to power both, trying to save space instead of using two amps. Any good suggestions? I know this is a very general question.
What's your budget?
I have been very impressed with PowerBass Amplifiers.
I have the ASA 400.4x powering an infinity component setup up front with a bridged 12" sub in the trunk and am blown away at the quality/cost ratio.
A good choice if you're on a low budget.

I'm debating the same thing right now. I just want to do a nice, simple, reasonable-budget upgrade. I'm trying to decide on what speakers I want. I wouldn't mind just putting in new speakers, but it sounds like an amp is a must. That being the case, I'd like to mount something under the front seat to power the door speakers. I want to go ahead and get a 4-channel amp so I can add a sub later if I decide I need it. Here's a few I've been considering:
- Diamond Audio D300.4: A local installer who's done a lot of work for me over the years highly recommends Diamond Audio equipment.
- JL Audio XD400/4: a bit more $$$ than I want to spend, but looks like a nice amp
- Rockford-Fosgate Punch P400-4: I've had a few people recommend this one
- Sony XM-4S: from everything I've read this is a great small platform amp...Sony got this one right

I have a JL G4500 pushing a pair of Focal's and a 8" W3v3. It's a great setup that doesn't cost big money but still has a great SQ. Also it's plenty of power to still hear the tunes with the HT off.
