Looking into buying Alpine CDA-9855
bought it the first time, it was junk...broken glide touch...new one came in, installed it, overall, good sq but alot less functions then the 9835...overall, its alright...i like it better than my old pioneer haha

ummm... i don't think so... what are these major lacking functions? i'm betting you can't even name more than say.... 2 or 3 lost functions. and some of those lost functions were replaced by different functions. either way -- go ahead and show us...

How does the 9855 compare with the 9835? I have played with a 9835 and I absolutely loved it. It seems like both models share a lot of the same features, if not all.
I tested this HU out on my buddy's car and didn't really like it--even though it's a high end Alpine. If I went w/ Alpine, I would probably go with 9833
Instead of the 9833, I went with the Kenwood x889 - I had Alpine in my old sound system that's why I chose Kenwood this time.
