Default Looking for a little help with an install...

Just recently bought a 8" Bazooka EL-hp off of another board member. I've never done sub installs but have installed everything else in relation to my stereo in my S (deck, front speaker, rear speakers, etc.). I was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice on how to do an install (wires that need to be run, etc.) My deck is an Alpine 7894 and I plan to mount the tube where the spare tire was.

Any help/advice would be GREATLY appreciated...

Thanks!

I don't have the manual, thus my problem with the install. Here is a picture of the inputs. I am assuming that there is power, ground and then RCA inputs?

well since it has rca inputs, all you need to do is run a set of rcas from the back of the head unit. you can use either the front, rear or sub-woofer outputs. i'd use the subwoofer output.

then you just need to run power to the trunk, find a ground point and you're good to go!

be sure when you run your RCA's and your power, that you keep them apart from each other. i'd recommend a power run from the battery through the firewall to the trunk. and you want to ground as close as you can to the sub. the bolts on the lower cross member by the spare make good grounding points.

also - be sure to fuse that power run close to the battery < 1'

it looks like whoever took the Bazooka out cut the power and ground (?) and did not leave you with the original wiring and fuse (that are mentioned in the manual). you can probably get an inexpensive power wire kit at circuit city, best buy, or Walmart that will suit your needs... don't let them sell you anything bigger that 10-gage though... it would be a waste of money in this case, as the Bazooka isn't going to pull high enough loads to justify larger gages...

best of luck... and take it from a former Bazooka owner -- don't point the tube at your sitting position -- try to point it at the side or back of the car, about 4-6" away from a wall... it will dramatically improve your output...
