I wonder if something as simple as this would work. Just a regular 7" gps that has a built in mp3 player with 20gb hard drive. This might actually work fine. Super cheap too. I just wonder how it would work with the antenna being attached to the unit if behind the dash it would not pick anything up. Or if the antenna could be removed and isntalled somewhere else or something.

Here is what I just found. Would def require a custom bezel but would still be tons cheper than any other route I think.

Come to think of it, i bet the sound quality would be horrendous with this unit even if you could get the sound from the gps to an amp or something. Forgot about that part haha.

That looks pretty sweet but I don't think it has any music capabilities. HDD for MP3's and a good audio output would really be needed. Not sure how good the quality of an audio output would be from any of these though. I would hope good but would have no idea.

Yeah thanks a lot man. Finding a bunch of things but everything is missing 1 piece haha. Might be better off just getting a double din size unit and doing the cutting and fabbing needed to make it fit. Tons of options if I go that route. But I have to cut the airbag bracket and fab a new one which I would be nervous to do. Don't want to sacrifice safety really.

You shouldnt have to cut the airbag bracket just relocate the SRS box if i remember right

But yea safety is still number one but ill let you know how mine comes out once i get started on it im using the JDM bezel for now but may end up have to do a custom bezel out of fiberglass...we shall see

Anyone know if I can connect an external hdd to a 7" touchscreen? Would I need software to operate the hdd or something? Never used an external one before. If that would work then I could get the Liliput one I mentioned above and just connect he external hdd to it for all my music and movies etc. Could just put the hdd somewhere in the trunk or something.
