Default Looking for speakers upgrade

I'm looking for a relatively cheap speaker upgrade (under $100 hopefully). Will such speakers change the quality of the sound a lot compared to stock? If so, which speakers do you guys recommend? I have a alpine headunit installed already if it matters. Also, do upgrading tweeters have a lot of difference in sound and is it worth it? How much is installation typically around? I don't have any experience with any electronical stuff so I rather not mess with it myself. Thanks in advance.

As usual -- not much without an amp.

You can get a decent upgraded sound by just replacing the stock HU and speakers/tweeters.

I upgraded my 05's system with a new Alpine iDA x303 HU and some Alpine Type S (SPS-600C - separate woofer and tweeters with built in crossover) and have loved it ever since. Range is vastly improved and sound is still great at high volumes, top down doing 80mph.

If you want real sound and power, you will have to buy component speakers and put in an amp and sub.

All depends on what your needs are. My needs were simple - improve over stock, iPod controls, good speaker sound at high volume - and the products I chose gave me those things without hitting my wallet too bad.

i'm in need of speaker as well. The stock ones are going on me. Any bass or increase in volume, I hear cracking. I thought it was something loose but its the speaker i believe.

what speaker can I replace that doesn't involve modifying anything? just simple plug and play I have a kenwood deck. Thanks.

I would perfer something from bestbuy as I have a giftcard there

The quality will be slightly better then stock but with out an Amp you will not bring out the speakers full potential and if you crank it then you will damage the speakers over time.

if you get a cheap alpine head unit instead, you'll get much better sound for your money. it will give you several more dB of signal and MUCH cleaner signal and more dynamic range, which acts to make the same amount of volume sound better.

the downside is you need a DCI or you lose dash controls, and that's $100 to add to the $150-250 for the radio, which is well over your $100.

but for $100, save the money and forget about it is my advice. get a head unit first or leave it alone.

It's always better to Upgrade your speaker because upgrading the HU will still be using the Honda paper cone speakers.

No matter how BA you Head Unit is the OEM speaker have a low limit of RMS watts it can handle. Push them over that limit with a better HU and it will just distort, clip, and or blow the speaker with higher volume levels. If you're not a big audio file/ Tech geek then get some pioneers and call it a day, if you want more out of those pioneer (or what ever you like) put them on an AMP then get the most out of them
