Well for reference, here's what im running. An Alpine MRP-M1000 amp rated @ 600RMS 4OHM or @1000RMS 2OHM. My sundown is a dual 2 ohm speaker so my only options are to wire it 4 ohm or 1 ohm to my amp. I have my amp turned up to the max and it is taking all of the wattage like nothing. AND since the amp is under a 4 ohm load, it stays cool. This sundown definitely needs a 1 ohm stable amp in the future but im content right now.

They might sell dual 4 ohm voice coil Sundowns. In that case you could wire a 2ohm load to your amp. But its rated at 500RMS and its taking "600RMS" like a champ.

Wow those sundown subs seem too good to be true. Haha, I'm gonna look into it a little bit. I plan on using a ZEenclosure, I really like the look of that ported one you showed earlier. But I wonder if they can do that, with a protective cover for the sub in case I want to use my trunk. Lol
Yeah thats the idea I had in mind as well, but the excursion of this sub is pretty high (up and down movement). So I think a bar style grill will work best. I felt as though the flat sheet with grill built in would be too close of clearance.

BUT I cannot seem to find a manufacturer for 8" bar style grills. Only 10" and up. I might have to make my own at my dads shop. They look like this:

This car is my daily so I planned around the idea that there WILL be groceries in the trunk once a week haha!
Yeah it's going to be my daily, I think a bar grill is a good idea. How did you go about getting a ported enclosure from ZEenclosures? I kind of want to go for the SA-10. Do you have any videos up of your sub so I have an idea what it sounds like?

Honestly, I sent them a very polite and professional email and I got a reply back within the next day or so. I was stunned. Go to sundown's site and get all of the specs from the sub you are getting and send them to zenclosures. They will ask what tune you want the port. He was able to get mine to 35hz. Thats a good average. I will take a video today and post it up for you.

Awesome! Thanks for the information, I really want to make my system sound good, and do it right the first time so I'm getting as much info as I can. I did find that they do make a 4 ohm dual voice coil SA-10!

Nice! If you are sticking to what you say, it makes me happy to get another sundown out there. I tend to stay mainstream with most brands but this is an exception . Is there anything in particular you want to see in the video? In my opinion you can never get an accurate sound of a sub from a video. Do you want to see trunk flex or something hop across it? Or a bottle over the port? LOL it bangs

Nah it's all good, haha. I just wanna know that it sounds good in the cabin. I'm gonna have to go with an 8, since ZEnclosures can't make a box that's large enough for the 10" requirements.

You will be happy with the 8 and join the bragging bandwagon with me when it beats other 10s and some 12s all day lol
