What was in the bag? If it had a metal clasp, there ya go. I got a few scratches on my Clarion sub from the shoulder strap of my briefcase. That cone is moving QUITE fast upon impact with anything. Based on the pattern, it appears that the object was stationary and anchored by something (bra in a bag with clasp hanging out might do it). Whatever it was, it had to be tied down, or the dimples would be spread all over the place. Not to mention, what ever it was would have been thrown from the sub. (I showed a friend just how fast the cone on my sub was moving by placing a plastic paperclip on it then turning the system on....after 2 notes, it flew across the trunk and landed on my amp). Kind of like when someone "gives you their bounce" on a trampoline.

Check the contents of the Victoria Secret bag. Their clasps are usually colored. You might be able to find a little chip in the paint on the clasp.

OR.....maybe you are just not subject to the forces of physics, and gravity decided to be extra mean in that one area.

You are a genius Dave. I think your right. The corner of the bag would fit the perfect description of those dents. Damm thongs for the girl!! Maybe Ill just wrap a thong around the grille for protection. But anyways back to the topic, that sounds like the most reasonable explanation, coupled with Phil's 60 times a second the sub moves up and down explanation.

The sub works fine now, so performance hasnt suffered. I just want a nice grille to hide the dings. johny's grille is perfect, I just hope it fits.

Dave, like I said earlier "Never had any problems with my Alpha !!!!!!!" Your right, serves me right to jump ship like that. The alpha was and still is a monster!!! Damm it!

JOhny let me know about the grille. I will order one right away if I know it will fit.
It was a bag full of thongs, so i doubt it was the contents of the bag, just the bag itself, its kind of a tough plastic. Makes perfect sense if the corner was resting on the sub itself.

Pikka - I emmailed him already. I'm pretty certain that's the one but I'll let you know when I'm 100% certain.

BTW my fiberglass box is complete. I was borrowing one of Eng's subs to use and was going to put a Lotus Sub in a few weeks with the Christmas crunch but the damn sub I'm borrowing is too deep . Looks like I'll be picking up the Lotus in a day or two...

I just emailed ENG to see what he recommends for a Grille. I know albert uses the one I have now, but I want more protection, and also I want to be able to hide those dings. Looks like cottage cheese on a fat chicks thigh!

Damm it Dave - Owned - Cant have that - I might have to just get another Alpha and toss the SEAS!!!!

I might change my signature to say "10 inch wrinkled SEAS Sub"
