Hi there. I was wondering if anyone could give me a recommendation on the max amp dimensions for an amp mounted in the spare tire well. I assume you can fit a larger amp there than you can under a seat. I don't want to use the tool well, and I don't want to lose any trunk space. Thanks!

 

I would say the maximum is pretty much the size of a JL Audio 500/5 amp, I know I only have a couple of mm tolerance with my install. If you look on the JL site you ought to be able to get the dimensions (my documentation is at home or I would have a look at that for you)

There are some pics of my install in progress here if you'd like have a look, the amp board fitting was a bit of trial and error, especially getting the bolt hole in the right place - it uses the hole that the spare bots down to hold in place.

Thanks guys, I was trying for as stealthy a look as possible, JL are a great company - as you can see from the photos the stealthbox shipped with the grill trimmed the wrong colour, they sent me a new grey one that arrived today and it now is an almost perfect match.

The Utopias fit great, they're on 18mm MDF spacers pending a set of Lucid's alloy rings and they sound tremendous. The rear panels (not photographed ) have Infiniti 4" components for rear fill. I'm really pleased with the sound and have had good feedback at UK owners meets
