MBQuart Speakers in a S2k
I would replace the stock speakers with MBQuart DSD 216 (separate components: midrange 6.5" and tweeter .75").
Has someone already done it with this component ??
Where is the best place for the tweeter ?

I have the PSC-216 components and I love them. Be ware that some on the board don't which is certainly fine. To each his own. That said, my shop mounted them about 2 inches above and to the right (if you are looking at the driver's side door, to the left if you are looking at the passengers) of the midrange. I am also running an aftermarket head unit and quality amp, both of which I am of the opinion are critical to get the right sound out of a relatively minimal system.
I have the MBQuart RSC-213 components installed. Mine are also installed exactly like "itsjustme" from above... They sounded great with the OEM headunit, and even better now with a new Alpine headunit I just installed. (Separate Amp) I totally agree that it's critical to also use a good headunit and an amp to get the right sound from your speakers. Good Luck.
I mounted the PSC216s myself (the PSD216 is now available). Same as your speaker except the tweets are 1". I would recommend this as it lowers the crossover frequency. This means more of the music is played by the unobstructed tweeters.
The old basket and speaker holder will need to be removed and replaced with the Quart's speaker holder. I had to drill new holes, etc. It was surprisingly easy.
The crossovers can be mounted nicely in the doors. There is a strange piece of plastic near the back of the door that can be removed. I mounted the crossover to a thin piece of wood and mounted the wood where the strange plastic pieces were. I have no idea what the original piece were for but looks like a place holder. Had little strucutal strength, I am guessing sound dampening?
I was originally going to mount the tweeters high but decided up and forward of the main speaker (about an inch). This location is unobstructed and near the main speaker. Also MBQuart's are very sharp with the highs (titanium tweet) so I wanted to tone it down a little.
Hope this helps.

i installed them myself also...couple of hours also....i mount the cross over in the black basket. the only complaint about these speakers are there is not enough lows, but great highs...Overall they are pretty good and i have the warranty, so if i wanted something new i just have to blow the speakers. Maybe i don't have enough lows is b/c i have an oem headunit with the alpine changer behind my seat. Probably the next mod will be rear speakers to help with the sound...

THX to all for the input.
Are some pics available? I don't like to drill a big hole in the door panel until I am not 100% sure it's the right place !!
To itsjustme: I replace the OEM headunit with my old pioneer DEH-P735R also the CD-Changer. Which amp do you recommend
(type, power,...) ?
To Y2K++S2K: Honda calls these "place holders" door protection or something like that....
