Default Modifry DCI

I installed a Modifry DCI along with a new Kenwood X-693 HU. I emailed Bob and discussed my options with him and he suggested connecting and enabling the tel/mute wire and function. When I did so, I had mute only. I switched off, disabled, the tel/mute function after which I had no functionality. Do I need to disconnect the tel/mute wire? Do I have some other problem? Am I missing something?
Thanks

How hard was it to install DCI on X-693?
I just created a thread last night asking how hard it is because I could not find anything on that topic.

Did you just have to connect that cable that says Remo. Cont. on the back of the HU to Modifry DCI? Do you have the info saved that Bob gave you? Is it plug and play?

I am sorry that you are having problems but I am sure some audiophile will chip in but it just takes time for people to come in here and figure out whats going on.

So you are saying that the install was very simple but you had to use that extra mute cable and attach it yourself to have the mute functionality and it did mute instead of tel and you did not like it. Once you disabled that functionality on DCI the whole thing stopped working?

Have you turned the DCI dipswitch 1 to OFF?

S2K MoZo see my post in your other thread. Let me know if you need any clarification. bb_00 It doesn't matter if switch 1 is on or off...I only get mute. If I disconnect the tel/mute wire, I got nothing.

Yup. Pretty sure the DCI is bad. Waiting on Bob to email me back. It's been a week.
