Default Modifry Wired DCI Help needed (Pioneer HU)

Im seeking help with my Wired DCI from Modifry. I emailed Modifry (bob@modifry.com) twice with No responce and I really would like to get it working rather than return it.

Im trying to use my modifry DCI that is the wired version for a DEH-5800MP Pioneer Head unit (It is compatable i checked, double checked, and triple checked that it does). I have everything wired up correctly and insulated correctly. The deck works but the radio controls do not. I have all the DCI switches off, except for 5 (needed to be on for Pioneer DCI Wired) and 3 (on because I have the blue wire unconnected). The only thing i didnt wire up was the Dimmer (nothing to wire it up to), blue DCI wire (nothing to wire it up to), and the gray DCI wire (choose not to tackle to SCV feature yet).

Any ideas? I read both the maual for the head unit and the DCI and I am out of ideas. Im not sure if i need to change any setting inside the head unit, I tried a few things but no luck.

It would also be nice if someone on here would help me out too.. Joe, maybe we should swap harnesses really quick...maybe its my deck? We have the same Head unti so it would only take minutes....

But, if it works on yours...you cannot keep it

I'm sure Bob will get back to you - he may be away, but I know some
people had trouble emailing him in the past so if you have access to
a different email account you might want to try sending from there.
In the meantime, he posted a week or two ago that some DCIs had been
shipped with incorrect instructions (IIRC), so you may want to confirm
settings here:

also, if you haven't found this, here are his troubleshooting tips:
http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/tech.htm
Only helpful if you feel comfortable using a multimeter to confirm voltage,
ground, and current.

I would definitely experiment with the dip switches and don't trust the instructions. My DCI only had 4 dip switches and their functions were completely reverse of what the instructions said. I think that I started with the default dip switch settings and things worked. Later, I went back in to enable the tap and press mode and when I did that, the controls completely quit working, except for the mute, which was set for interrupt. After some experimentation, I realized that the order of the dip switches was reversed from what the instructions had. Once I figured that out, they all seemed to do what they were supposed to. Anyway, hopefully Bob will get back to you, but maybe this will help you out in the meantime.

found the problem, the red wire somehow got cut instead of crimped.

Thank you everyone
