Anyone have some pics of a V1 mounted in front of their windscreen? I wanna see if it's a good idea in the 1st place and exactly HOW big it is. Thanks.

Here are some pics that show the V1 from different angles .. if you want me to snap some pics at a specific angle, I can do so tonight when I get home. Just let me know what you want.

I have mine in the same place as the pictures, up high and next to the rearview mirror. I have mine direct wire. I also use a concealed display unit which is on my dash on the left side above the vent. I went with the concealed display unit because cars behind me could see the red lights flashing off when I receive a signal.

I have it like this in all my cars since I purchased the V1 over 6 years ago. I love it!!!

Isn't it difficult to adjust the volume control with the unit over your shoulder like that? (I am always turning mine up and down, as I pull into a drive through for example ..)

Also, what do you do with the unit when you park the car? Do you take it down to keep it out of site, or just leave it up and hope no one steals it?? (it seems like it might be more of a pain to get off of that mount than if it was on the windshield).

Last question, how does having the remote display on the radio door inhibit you from opening it?? It seems like you would only be able to get the door to open 60-70% of the way ..

I didn't notice that!! That is badass!! Do you have any details on how you modified the door so that the display fit in there so nicely?? I am very interested in mounting my remote display in the same location. Any hints, advice, directions, etc would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Here are the pictures of my install.. The mount for the V1 can be found at:

http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...&threadid=18740 You can thank James (Reedz) he goes into detail about the mount & parts needed.. the mount took 5 mins to construct & install.. Also there is additional threads you can go to..

The first thing is to take apart the Concealed Display box. All you need is the display plate(front display) & the curcuit board.. then I cut out the place for the display... (measured several times) I used my dremel tool for this project.

After I got the display in I had to figure out a way to get the phone cable with the jack on it so I cut a hole in the back big enough to fit it thru. I still had to pry up in the base to to fit the jack in..

I ran the remote display wire thru the shifter box & up to the 12v power area were I tap in to the 12v power for thr V1(sorry no pics)

This is what the back side looks like

here is the pictures of the V1 mount

I ran the cables for the V1 up the inside of the compartment

I did use a little Epoxy on the 4 corners of the remote display to help it stay in place. The circuit board has a couple of tabs on it that helps it stay in place. Also the Jack for the display does not hit any part of the radio on my system.. I don't know about your.

If you have any more questions please ask Hope this helps
