Yes that is exactly the plan. It will run on a very small amp that can be placed out of the way.
This design is for all those people out there that want a sub but have no interest in losing their spare for whatever the reason.

People have been asking for this kind of setup for years and Kinetic Autosports is going to give them exactly what they want!
Just a heads up...

When storing the flat, you must remove the tools, and store them where the spare used to be. So even that wont solve the problem. But for those that want some bass, without the weight, this is a perfect solution.

Right but this sub box will be small enough to fit in that spot

I was gonna' say, if the sub is small enough to fit where the styrofoam tool tray goes then it should fit in the spare well or at least off to the side. Where is the thread discussing this new sub setup?

Would it be possible to fabricate these to fit under the seat? in addition to whatever you have in the trunk? To create the feeling of more bass?

I have a Kicker solobaric L5 (12 inch) in the trunk, sounds great IMO. but due to the limited enclosure space, it is lacking that deep bass feeling. anyone have input with that?

Have you considered Aura bass shakers?

They're old school. They came out in the 90's. Since then people have used them for all sorts of stuff, even the home theater guys took notice. Another company, buttkicker, has created their own "bass shakers" but are much more powerful.
