Default NEED ADVICE - 6.5 ProSeries Tweeter Mounting

I have a 2001 s2k. VERY interested in installing Boston Acoustics 6.5 ProSeries with a JL amp. My concern is where to put the tweeters. It seems silly to use the "bridge" that comes with it that enables the tweeter to be mounted on the main speaker unit. Why buy components if you're going to do that?

My question is two fold:

1) Any suggestions on where to put them and do you have any pics to show this?

2) Here's my thought. Since the newer s2k's have component tweeters mounted stock, could I get those stock mountings from Honda and use them on my 2001 doors? This assumes that the BAs will fit in those mouldings.

I'm looking to do something in the next week or two so your input, as always, is VERY much appreciated.

Thanks!

I believe bshigeta actually swapped out his entire door panel for an 02 version. You might want to PM him to find out more.

My solution:

if you're going for the stock '02 setup, I think you can just buy the tweeter pods from the '02 now, instead of the entire panel, and cut the '01 door panels and make them fit, if you are industrious.

thanks for the updates. As far as being "undustrious" I actually have "a guy" I've used for 16 years for various stereo installations. To say he gets creative would be an understatement but he also knows I try to stick to the stock look and am VERY anal about my car. If the "tweeter pods" can be purchased and mounted on the '01 panels then I'm all for that. It accomplishes all of my goals assuming I can get them separately, they can be mounted to the '01 panels properly, and the new tweets will fit in them.

If anyone has any experience in this area plus contribute. We had a local meeting this past Friday night but frankly this "idea" didn't hit me until this weekend. If I had thought of it earlier I could have visually inspected a few of the newer cars that night to make out the feasibility of the whole thing.

Keep the ideas coming!

Can you post a pic of the passenger side as well. Since the doors are cut different I'm concerned about appearence between the two sides.
Thanks!
