Default Need Advice

Hi guys,

After many hours of research and pulling out my hair on which set of speakers i should get for my newly purchased 01 s. I have come to the conclusion that i would like to get the 165VR 6.5" component speaker set.

http://www.focalaustralia.com.au/pdf...lass_165VR.pdf <<<PDF file

My question to those who read this is, will they fit with a 70mm mounting depth? I dont mind making up a MDF spacer or cut out the rear plastic basket, i think i read up somewhere while i was searching that you can fit up to 90mm if thats the case, then, fantastic.

If these fit i will continue to put myself through the same stress trying to choose a amp, HU and sub which i will most likely ask you guys

any advice is helpfull as long as its constructive.

Thanks in advance

My SPX-177Rs have a depth (per the manual) of 2.8" or 70.8mm, and need a spacer ring to fit.

Your link doesn't say how deep the Focal is, but I konw a lot of folk in the UK use them, I suspect with a spacer ring.

The mounting depth of the door to window is 53mm. Given a 3/4" spacer (19mm), you can fit up to 72mm mounting depth.

A 1" spacer (25.4mm) gives a total of 78mm depth, however use of a 1" spacer requires shaving the rear of the door speaker grill.
