I am trying to buy a sub and an amp.
I was looking at JL Audio products..
Do you guys have any recommendations?
They don't need to be JL. I just need some recommendations

What kind of music do you usually listen to? What would you like to achieve by adding a sub/amp? What do you have currently in your system?

JL 500/1v2 and Stereo Integrity Mag 12V4d2.

 

I'm a Image dynamics guy.. I also happen to have an IDMAXv2 12d2 for sale too.. if you're interested... really cheap...

I also had a JL 12W6v2 powered by 250W JL amp and it was plenty of power

 

Trust me. The Mag is $250 shipped and sounds far better and hits harder than that ID.

(I used to be an ID guy too)

 

i don't really listen to rap or hard rock..
so I don't need alot of bass.. though lot is better than less.

I need to get a sub box too.. I am really looking to get a sub with enclosure + amp quick!! So, if anyone can offer me something good with a reasonable price I can paypal right away.

Trust me, get the SI mag. It's incredibly accurate when it comes to bass. I listen to a bit of everything: blues (including live recordings), classic rock, electronica, heavy metal, pop/rock, rap, etc.

As for an enclosure, you can build your own, talk to Darkknight1999 about having him build you a box, or wait till Jan when WLAURENT will start making boxes again. You'll want a tool-well enclosure for that mag (12")

If I get an aftermarket HU, can i still install it to make the audio controllers next to the steering wheel work? I heard there is a module for certain HUs.
