Need Help with Stereo!

Thanks for all the feedback. I really just want to be able to hear clear music top down. I am not interested in crazy bass, or to win any awards with my sound system. I just want something that sounds good. I am willing to spend 2k or less for this.
I am not really that concerned about the spare tire, but I would like to keep my trunk space. Worst case scenario, if I get a flat I'll pay $100 for a tow. I have not had a flat tire in 10 years (knock on wood). Having said that, I would like to maintain as much trunk space as possible. Thanks for all the recommendations!

Fair enough.My personal preference is not to have earth shaking lows as much as provide adequate coverage of the low range (10's don't get low enough, IMO).
This is why I'm looking forward to having one of the new BM's in hand (and installed in my S)...12" practically zero distortion 500W sub without losing any trunk space and can be completely hidden?

List price is $270 including shipping. Rumor is that there will be a small discount the first week or so that they're on sale.
I agree about the space savings, I've been tempted to start building an enclosure, but I'd rather wait till I have the BM in hand.
If it works out as I hope it does (mounts in the spare tire area well), I'm thinking about building a mold and offering to build fiberglass enclosures for it
