Default Need some help :)

Hi everyone, Im installing (for the first time ever, gulp) speakers (rear) into my S. I have a quick question about wiring the rears. My S is a 03, and I have Polk components installed in the front running to my amp which is a two channel. I just bought some Polks for the rear and ik was wondering how the wiring is set up for the back of the alpine, to be honest I have no idea were anything goes. Do i need to purchase anything other than speaker wire or is there more to it???

I dont really trust the local speaker installers with my car, the last install i had they scrathced my door a bit, so I would like to handle this on my own and it doesnt "seem" to involved.

Thanks in advane for any help.

Nah, dont worry....youll be fine.

First of all, I assume your headunit is already installed. The Alpine Harness has 8 wires dedicated to speakers. 4 speakers x 2 (Positive and negative)

Next, check the FAQ and look at my guide to panel removal. Remove (on both sides) the rear panel, the horsehair brush inner panel, the s2000 logo rocker panel, and losen then kickpanel. Then, just wire up the speakers, run the wire to the headunit area, and then youll be golden. On the bottom of your headunit there should be a chart of what wire does what. Follow that chart and connect the wires accordingly. Reassemble, and enjoy!

Ok, everything has been taken apart, and im ready to do the wiring, pulled the wires out and im assuming that the grey and white wires are for the fronts, and the purple and green are for the rears, however, the fronts like i mentioned are on the amp and the rears are going to run off the HU, my question is, the green/purple wires are connected to two diff places and are crimped together, obvioulsy i have to cut them to wire them to the rears, now, since im using the headunit do i have to connect them to the wires running off head unit or the other adapter...???? here are some pics

sorry for being such a noob....

Connect the green/purple wires from the head unit to the rear speaker wires.

Since the '03 wasn't wired for rear speakers OEM, those wires simply terminate at the end of the aftermarket harness.

Thank you sir...acutally I went ahead and did it, I said hey "whats a little snip" fortunetly it worked, but thanks again for replying.

Got it wired, now just have to cut the panels...kinda rigged the speakers without panel to hear what they sound like, and even tho the rears are not running on an amp its a nice improvement over running just the fronts.

I dont want it to get to much louder, still wanna hear the engine!!!!
