Default Question On Lucid Rear Install.

I'm considering getting a lucid rear speaker set. I'm not to good at electronics. I already have a 50x4 headunit and infinity 6.5s in the front and they sound great. I'm thinking about going rear though. If I decided to buy the lucid rears what else would I need? Would I need to buy rear speaker wire? Then would I just connect those wires to my headunit? I'm thinking I might just take it to a stereo install place after I get the speakers mounted but any additional materials needed after I buy the speakers? thanks!

You would have to get an amp depending on what speakers you buy. Obviously if you buy a set of speakers that require more watts, you need to accomodate those watts with an amp. The h/u you have will power them probably ok otherwise... so really, an amp is not very necessary. Sounds to me though that your leaning towards taking it to a shop. All they're going to do is pull the panels off, run speaker wire from the h/u to the new speakers and put the panels back on. $200 please.

I installed the rears in about an hour.

you may need some speaker wire depending on how much you already have.

All you do is replace the panels with the ones with speakers and run the wire to the head unit. I ran the wire under the carpet in the center console...it comes off with push clips. Then connect the wire to the purple and green wires on your HU. The striped wire in each purple/green pair is the (-).

Why would he amp the rears when his fronts aren't amped?

Nah I don't need an amp I just think I might need some rear sound and a lil more bass. The sound level is fine and I don't want to go all out on sound. So basically all I need is rear wires and than hook em up from speakers to headunit under the carpet? Sweet
