Default Need some suggestions/advice

Ok sound guys...just recently got an 01 s. While I'm loving the car & all, the left side is not working. And well the right, sounds just horrible...weaker than I expected.

Anyhow I need to replace these badboys asap. Ive read the audio faq & realize sound is in the ear of the beholder lol. So I gues I'm asking what brand 6.5 are good in GENERAL...I just need some ok-decent bass & good mid-highs in the $100-150 range...or even cheaper... Nothing award winning...
Performance is #1 for me so I don't want to go crazy with audio. Yes, I plan to replace the head w/ a nak400 preferably, but not right now. I'm not brand biased so, suggestions welcome.

Thanks all.

I had Infinity Reference components in my last car and liked them a lot. I found the tweeters a little too bright but there is a -3db connection available on the crossover that brought them in nicely (to my ears).

I got Infinity Kappas, cuz when I was younger, all my friends told me they were bad ass! But you have to amp them.

Go wid MB Quart for ur components (mids) they have a crisp clean sound if powered rite... and get a separate amp and sub 8"-10" for bass. If you have bass coming from ur mids it's always gonna seem like it's not enough when u turn it louder.
