None of the smartphone apps automatically switch on when reverse signal received. So that means every time you reverse you have to open the app first. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Yeah the Bluetooth ones are crap, i tried that already. they have some delay and having the open the app every time is a pain.

I installed a rear-view mirror with a backup camera screen, but with the top down and it's sunny it can't be seen at all. Need to find a better solution.

The 8.8" joying is an option, but I like having the radio door.

I think finding a brighter rear-view is my best bet at this point.

The Absolute Electronix kit is another option, but also involves the removal of the door.

Strange (to me) how addicted to rear cameras I've become and I find the lack of a rear vision camera when backing my S2000 frustrating. Roof UP backing into my driveway resembles day 1 of driver training so I habitually drop the roof and move the right mirror down significantly so I can see the edge of my driveway. Brighter LEDs in the backup lights help a little at night. The only solution I can think of is @TheBasedDoge 's camera but with a daylight visible display in the mirror like one of my Subarus from a few years ago.

The JOYING unit I have has a backup camera you can purchase.

I just didn't care enough to install and run wires from my trunk. Also, I think sensors you can add to bumper.
But a full android unit isn't for everyone, and neither is the removal of the radio door... so it's a trade off. I still use my dash controls.
I will say having internet and google maps on there everywhere I go is very handy. My phone doesnt leave my pocket. This is my third head unit after a JVC single din Nav unit, and an alpine BT unit. I doubt I can go back to a standard head unit.

The joying is looking more appealing to me. looking at the better rearview mirrors and they cost over $200, at that point I may as well spend another 100ish and get the joying with more features.

Not having the radio door is annoying. I can probably 3D print a bezel though at make it look slightly better.

How is the joying visibility on a sunny day with top down?

There's not really anything to print as far as looks. The radio face fills up the entire area with little uncovered. I have a file for a bracket to fit the OEM radio opening that the face can snap into at an angle so the vents are still functional.

My wife hasn't complained about visibly yet so no idea on that one. Having torque for the engine info is handy/neato and I added the in wheel tpms sensors as well.

Installed a rearview mirror from a 370z that has built in monitor. Does pretty decent in sunlight. Has homelink garage door buttons and a compass. Compass has orange font, matches our dash colors.

Paid less than $50 on ebay. Z with big wing had this mirror (I guess wing blocks rearview). I did a thread on how to source this mirror.

Visibility is plenty on sunny days with top down. You can clearly see the screen.
Not sure what you'd print, as the screen is pretty large and protrudes... but worth a shot I suppose. Just don't buy it thinking you can def do that.

Is this the one you got? I dont see the big bump at the top in your photo. Oh, and is the display visible with the top down + sunglasses + sunny day? the one I have now is polarized in the wrong direction.
