I have a local guy. He's actually did the s2000 when we bought it but it didn't make it long with her commuting 3 hours a day. Did the CR-V as well and of course it has giants chunks missing because windshields and my wife have a strange relatiorelationship. He also does work for my friend that does window film, so hopefully he will drop them off and have them done before install.

It will install seamlessly. Remove 4 bolts, slide old hu out. Move brackets from old hu to new, boot new one in place. Obviously unplug opd one, plug in new one, and some trim has to be removed to get to the bolts.
Still able to close radio door. Most are able to set display colors, so you can match stock dash, etc.
Buy from crutchfield.com. They'll sell you a harness to make it all plug and play.
Consider upgrading speakers too.
2nd, this method works well. Did this and everything worked fine except for old radio brackets, the screw holes on the Honda brackets just don't appear to line up with the Pioneer HU, so I bent the metal tabs on the top of the HU to lock it into place. Unfortunately it is 1mm too far forward and the closed radio door presses the mode knob

I also had trouble aligning the stock tabs on Pioneer hu. Even called Crutchfield for help. But it was just me not seeing how they're supposed to go.

I don't recall what I was doing wrong, if I had them upside down or was trying to put them into wrong hu holes. But once I put them where they're supposed to go, it all went in like stock. Door closes, no drama.
