At some point down the road I may give in and go with the larger sub too.

If you do it, let us know what you think of the Imprint tuning. I've got a 9887 but I haven't gone that far (yet). Just manually tuned the time delays and crossovers.

Penforhire,

How long did it take you manually? Imprint did all seven listening positions in about 30-35 minutes. Cool thing with the 9887 is that you can save two settings with the MultEQ button, plus you can turn it off so you have three different settings to choose from. When I ran the Imprint with stock speakers and no sub, the difference between before and after was amazing. Very similar to the difference in adding an amp to a system that was previously powered by just the head unit. Not that Imprint gives you more power, but it sure sounded like it. I'll run it this weekend, and then maybe a month later after the speakers are all broken in. It will be interesting to see if there is much difference. I think you can get Imprint on ebay for around $200, and that's easily the best $200 I spent so far.

I don't know about the Alpine setup, but I can manually tune in my Eclipse HU in about 20 mins (measure from each speaker to listening position, convert to ms, input into HU, adjust as necessary). I don't even bother making the measurements, just tune by ear.

I would love to see pics of the sub install. If that's too much trouble then some more detailed description of the enclosure size and shape and how it fits in the spare tire area would be great.

Thanks.
