Default New speakers

Hey there,

So I just picked up the S2000 last week only to find out recently that my speakers were blown. The sound is very distorted on the right passenger side as well as a lot of static listening to the radio or CD. I did a search and it seems a lot of people are giving the polk db6501's a good review. I went ahead and placed an order for a set through ebay and was wondering if these will resolve my sound issues. I want to keep the stock head unit and was wondering how hard the install would be? It comes with a crossover box, would it be necessary to install that?

For now, I just want to be able to turn on the radio or pop in a cd and listen to music - not distorted sounds. Would it be necessary to install an AMP? If so, which would you recommend.

Regards,
Michael

Those are fine with your stock HU but would benefit from a higher end HU as well. Not necessary to get an amp for those. If you do amp you will want higher end speakers anyway. Should be pretty easy to install. Use this thread as a basis or look for someone in your local area who would be willing to help:

Thanks, for your input. I read through that thread once and noticed the pics were dead halfway through, but as a note to anyone reading. If you click the links, some of them still work!
