I have the gain set at a half way point and can turn up the volume on the JVC head unit way pass the half way point and all sounds clear. The volume rises up on the sub with the head units volume so the sound stays even
The bass is clean and hits pretty good and better than you would expect

Nice looking sub down there. When you chose the JVC, did you look at any other powered subs that would fit under there?

S2KPUDDYDAD:
Any reason why that JVC "sub" would not fit under the passenger seat (not in your case since you have an amp there - but in general)? If so, then perhaps one could be placed under each seat. My biggest issue is that at speed, bass goes away since my Diamonds in the doors can't really produce all that much.

I'm sure it would fit. I have really good door speakers so the sound stays right there for me. The little sub is more an enhancement to the system as a whole. I have not been up on the hwy. with the top down yet, so I can't report on how well it will perform in that situation.
It is a compact lightweight alternative to a heavy conventional sub with enclosure. I think two would really give a nice bass bounce to each of the seats like bass shakers.
