S2KPUDDYDAD:
Any reason why that JVC "sub" would not fit under the passenger seat (not in your case since you have an amp there - but in general)? If so, then perhaps one could be placed under each seat. My biggest issue is that at speed, bass goes away since my Diamonds in the doors can't really produce all that much.

I took the car up to speed today (70 mph) with the top down and the bass was good I borrowed some techno CD from a friend at work that has a good bass line. Sitting at a light you notice the mirrors shacking and your but getting bounced but, when your doing 70 mph it

2kpuddydad,

How many inches clearance do you think you can push under the seat? W x H x D?

Will a 13.5"(w) x 3.4" (h) x 8.9" (d) work, you think? I love your idea placing the sub under the seat, and I started researching for possibly a bigger woofer. I found the blaupunkt version like yours.

Oh, one last thing I failed to mention... I have a 07. You think it's different?

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

How can I get some of that superlightweight sound deadening material???
The weight of traditional sound deadening is what has always kept me away from them.

2 3/4" inch high is about it. This is the only self powerd sub that will fit under the seat. I have a Kenwood powerd sub behind the seat of my Toyota PU. it has two 6" subs in it. I tried to fit it in the S but it was a no go

Unfortunately the stuff I used is not sold to the general public Maybe if you get a hold of a coach or semi truck outfitter they maybe able to get it for you.

how hot does the pasenger seat get?

i really wanna put my amp either behind or under the passenger seat, but i'm afraid it gets too hot and not only damage the seat, but actually act as a seat heater.... being in FL --- that would be a real big negative for me

I am in FLA too The amp I have under there never gets hot enough to heat up the seat. I think any amp that would fit under there would not get that hot.
Putting one behind the seat sucks, I had one there and it really hinders the seat adjustability.

Looks very nice - that's a lot of work just in the matting and sound-proofing, but a good decision as it will make a huge difference in how it sounds. I bought a sound-reduction kit 2 years ago and have yet to install it - I think now I'll wait and put it in my '08.

No offense intended, but I love manufacturers' ratings - a 5 1/4" speaker with 90dB efficiency and a 125W RMS power rating. Amazing. They should apply for a Nobel prize in physics. I think that equates to a maximum SPL of 112dB, which at 100Hz would require 15mm of excursion from a 5 1/4" driver. Yikes!

Could you run this sub with the stock head unit?
