I just recently got an s2000 and I am read to upgrade the sound system!

I am a big person on quality of sound and I love my music. I would like to do a headunit upgrade first (as suggested by the amazing guide stickied on this forum). However, the guide mentioned that I will most likely lose my dash controls.

What determines whether I lose or keep dash controls?

or crutchfield sells a similar yet inferior adapter called pac-swi or something.
basically what determines whether you keep your dash controls is money and how much more you want to spend. modifry is about $90.
