I have already hardwired my radar detector, and am going to run the wires around the windshield. I wanted to mount the detector above the rear view mirror, but not enough space is given. My question is, do you think it is a good idea to remove the mirror, and drop it down a couple of inches so that i could slide my detector on top of it? I live in VA where they are illiegal , and i just dont want it hanging from windshield in open view. I have Dark black tint going across the top of the windshield and was going to use an exacto knife to cut a patch big enough so the radar could look through.
Also how/what are the steps to remove the mirror and re-attach it?
sorry for the stupid question, just dont want to break my mirror.

na don't do it... to much risk... you need to pick yourself up a beltronics STI , www.beltronics.com they can't be detected by radar dectector dectectors so the cops won't know :-) worth the money in your state.
