Default Noob Question about the Dash LEDs

Please forgive the noobish question and I'd appriciate it if nobody flames me for asking. I am concidering a Comptech Super Charger in the future. With it, I plan to get an Amuse gauge pillar. The lighting on the Amuse pillar has a very attractive looking blue LED lighting. This is all fine, but I'd like to match the rest of my interior lighting to the blue. I was wondering if there was an economical way to change the lighting on my dash so it would display in blue (similar to the shade in blue volkswagon has). Would changing the LEDs behind the dash work? Do I have any other options? What would you expect the cost to be to do such work? I am also planning to upgrade my deck to an Alpine with a similar color scheme. Any helpful input would be appriciated. Thanks guys.

do a search for blue LED for both DJQube and MacGyver. both have dash color swap efforts available or in development.

neither of them are particularly cheap however.

if after some searching you cannot find the threads, repost and i'll help you find them... they should be very easy to find however.

I have done this in my friends TL type S. Changed the entire interior to 90%blue, 10% white leds. Took about 3.5 months. I kid you not. Granted I didnt work all day on this, but cmon, I have a life, and a job.

Unless you have massive time, lots of money (its expensive, the leds are about 4 bucks each) good as soldering, and have more patience than a boulder, I would not do it. Its lots of work. Granted an s2k is less work than a TL, but its still no picnic.

P.S. Disregard my post if you meant "dash" as in gauge cluster. If you meant all the lighting, buttons, climate controls, etc.....then my post applies.

i think he meant both cluster and dash... i know both Mac and DJ have designs for the cluster... DJ did all blue on his dash, but i'm not sure he's selling it... i know it probably took him close to a year to do it...

There are about 25 LED's to replace in the cockpit, not including the dash.

What is the status of the DJ Cube or MacGyver setups? So far I don't think either of them is selling a product. I hope they do in the future, though.

Also, for the original poster, some corrections:

You don't want the Amuse pod, that goes on the passenger side of the car. You want the one by gaugepods.com or some such thing. Do a forum search to find the manufacturer.

Also, you can use whatever gauges you want in it and change their colours accordingly.
