Not my area of expertise.
I was thinking about purchasing the following for the S2000:
JVC KD-ADV38 as my head unit
2 ALPINE SPR-17C as my door speakers
my questions are:
1) With this headunit do you think i will lose my side buttons and if so how can i get them back.
2) Will these speakers fit in the S2000 without any problems?
3) Should I replace the door tweeters?
4) Should I purchase an amp and if so any suggestions on brand and placement?
- I am also rather confused about the whole component speaker package with a crossover. Does that package replace the door speakers AND the door tweeters but then where do you but the crossover unit.
-Thanks for you help since this is not definitely not my one of my recently visited forums and I trust you guys more than some 18 year old kid at bestbuy. - Matt

well you should be able to use a DCI which you can find on here, modifry sells them i believe.
the speakers should fit as they are 6.5. The depth is the only issue, but you can check the depth of the speaker and someone will be able to tell you the max depth.
As far as tweeters, go with a component set. This will take care of door speakers and tweeters. The crossover can be mounted in the door (it has an area that is just about made for it).
Amp would be nice, but if it is out of the budget for now, you can add it later. I have my amp in the spare tire area on a custom amp rack. (no more spare, or tool kit as I have my sub in the tool well). Just some options.
Check out some of the stereo DIY's on the site for placement and some great write ups!
Hope this helps!

Adding on......
1) Another problem that you may encounter is closing the front panel once the JVC deck is installed....
2) Depth is an issue here.....I've fitted Focals with 78mm mounting depth with the help of 18mm spacers.....prob about 60mm clearence (estimated)...
4) An amp would definitely help here. Get a reputable (Alpine, Rockford, Clarion, etc depending on your budget) 4 channel amp....that way should you want to add a sub later down the line, the two extra channels should accommodate nicely.
