Default OEM Stereo "Code"

So I had some interior work done which required removing the dashboard. When I got my car back, I turned on the radio, and the word "Code" was flashing on the screen. I tried keying in some numbers, and everytime I keyed in the fifth digit, I'd get an "Err2" or "Err3" or just "Err(some number)". Meanwhile, the little red "Anti-theft" led is blinking.

Any idea how I can find out what I'm supposed to do to get my radio working again? Is it in the owner's manual or something? (I'd look but I'm at work and it's at home). I'm hoping there's a generic code that works for everybody, but that's kinda unlikely isn't it? Yeah.

And who in their right mind would want to steal one of these anyway??

It's in your owners manual. there is no generic code. To get your code you need the serial number from your unit.

an easy way to get the serial number
Turn off the radio
press and hold presets 1 and 6,
while you're holding them, press power, and the serial number will come up. PM me with it and i can get you the code, or call a local dealership.

Thanks! If I can't find my owner's manual, I'll do that!

Why do you think car thieves are in their right mind? Thieves steal all sorts of things. I've had used oil, a radio faceplate (they couldn't remove the radio itself), CD's, prescription glasses and other random things stolen. A friend had a (literally) hot 6 pack of Sprite stolen from her car in the middle of summer.
