Hey LATEOTT,
Do you know of any links or anything to where I can get more info on this particular install? Possibly pics or something. Thanks.
Koala, it is but a figment of my imagination. I don't think it has ever been done, although it's potential has been mentioned before by multiple people..

I have fantasized about that space when gazing over the fuel tank with the trunk panels removed. There is a space back there that is about right for a 6W0 chamber, but it is really hard to get to... If you filled a bag with expanding foam you could get the shape of the space. Then you would have to take apart about half the car to get the dried foam out (and to get a completed sub box in, of course.) The chamber could extend over the fuel tank.

I have thought about doing it when I switch my '00 top with a more modern one (galss window). I would have to remove the top and all those panels.

There is no space on the other side because the spare tire goes there.

Right now I have the crossovers for my rear components stashed in that space.

To see what it takes to get to that space, search posts on top install/removal/replacement, and posts on rollbar installation. I think there is also a library article on top replacement. You can get an idea of how much stuff has to come out of the car to make it happen.

It looks like from the rollbar installs I saw that you may be able to avoid removing the top--just take out the seats and work from the inside.

My ideal setup would include subwoofers behind each seat. But after research i realized that was close to impossible. So I gave up. But yea, it all sounds too complicated and what i have in mind, now, seems to work and is much more simpler. But thanks for the info.
