Operate key fob while car is on...
I while back, I read about a mod where you can pull a certain wire from the wiring harness in the steering column that will allow you to use the key fob to lock/unlock doors and pop the trunk while the car is on, but I just. can't. find. it!
I'm annoyed, I've been searching, but its eluding me. Does anyone here know the link, or better yet, which wire to pull in the steering column? btw, this is not the mod to make the fob only pop the trunk when the car is on.
Thanks,

Thanks, I've seen that post, but it is, unfortunately, not the one I'm looking for.
The post I want to find has the actual directions for pulling to steering column apart and which exact wire to pull.
Help!

I really need to put this stuff on my web site.
Anyway, it sounds like it's the "key in" signal you need to disable. I would suggest you clip that at the Keyless Entry Unit rather than the ignition switch. Cutting it at the ignition switch affects other circuits like the headlight reminder, and you can reach the keyless module without tools. Those darned steering column plastic pieces never seem to go back together the same.
The Keyless module is up under the left side of the dash, kind of behind the start button. If you look up in that area you will see the connector end of the Keyless module facing you (down). Locate the RED/WHITE wire and cut it, making sure to insulate the free end of the wire. There is only one RED/White wire on the Keyless module.
I know for sure that the "key in" signal defeats the remote, but I don't know for sure if this is the only wire that needs to be cut. It's possible the Keyless module uses the ignition ON signal too.
If after cutting the red/white you find the remote works with the key in but not with the key ON, you must cut the yellow wire on terminal 16. There are a crap-load of yellow wires on the Keyless module, the one you want is plain yellow (no stripe) and is NOT in one of the corner holes. It's between a black wire and a white wire, that should make it easy to find. Cut it and insulate the free end.
