Yeh i work at circuit city and wanted to put these in my car. Well when i tried the actual basket of the woofer wouldnt even fit in the hole. So i ended up getting infinity components.

As for running MM6 components off the factory deck, dont even think about it, it will sound awful as these speakers are designed for power.

I am running the MM6 off of a kinda cheap fosgate deck only 45x4 and it sounds really good. I was running them off my 4 channel amp and it didn't sound too good...I must have had it tunned wrong or something, but I needed the money anyways so I sold the amp.

Just curious why most people want to keep the baskets?

When I upgraded my speakers, I took out the baskets, and made an MDF ring, to accomodate my new speakers..didn't give the basket a second thought.

Am I missing something?
