Default Porsche Classic Radio

I just ran across a new 1-din radio from Porsche that hahttp://s lots of modern features w/navigation which is designed for older Porscshe models. I wonder if this would fit and by an easy install for an S2K?

See product info here:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...ghlights/navi/

See video here:

It's pricey, but seems to have all the features I want. I currently have a Alpine iDA-X305S installed that has been good to me. I just always wanted Nav built in as well vs. fumbling with an external device (Garmin or phone) without having to do a major mod to my dashboard.

Based on the FCC ID, the Porsche Classic Radio appears to be made by Krämer Automotive. The Krämer KR-737 appears to be the non-Porsche version of the same single-DIN solution. It may be less expensive for you to attempt to source this model instead.

Krämer KR-737

EDIT: It looks like this product is no longer sold directly by Krämer....

if it's just single din nav + modern radio controls, why not something like this?

JVC might not have been known for their car stereos, but their latest offerings were pretty nice where I've seen them in use. This was a definite option on my list other than unknown modifry dash control capability (I bet modifry can comment on that though)

A few members have installed the JVC KD-NX5000 in the past, I believe. Here is an example of one.

Unfortunately, it appears this model has been discontinued as well.

Yep, I found that as well. These days, installing a device with a old school HDD would spook me.

To answer the initial question, after reading the install guide with the link you provided i'd say you should be able to install it. One question I would ask is if it comes with harness and open leads. I'd guess yes, but it'd be great to verify that fact. Let us know the cost, i'm not going to lie it's got what i would say no one else has.

I will point out that per the technical specifications, it's not compatible with
a steering wheel remote, so you'd give up your dash switches if you care.
